We knit our garments in the factory in Gällstad. It gives us full control of every step in the process – from the first stitch to the finished sweater. You can therefore feel secure that your garment is not only of the highest quality, but that it is also carefully produced.
For us, it's about more than clothes – it's about taking responsibility from start to finish.
Wool as material
Wool is a natural and durable material that breathes, warms and is comfortable to wear.
Why wool?
Wool keeps you warm when it's cold and cools you when it's hot. Perfect for both everyday life and outdoor life.
Nature's own High Tech
The wool fibers transport away sweat and bad odors. So you stay both dry and warm. A magical combination of comfort and function.
Wool washes itself
Thanks to wool's self-cleaning properties, you don't need to wash it as often. You save both time and energy. Win-win.

In 1946, the knitting machines move into the attic.
When Martin Göthager founded the company in 1946, the focus was on designing and knitting women's clothing, then under the name Gällstads Ylle. Martin had worked in knitting factories for a long time but was driven by his own ideas. Together with two companions, he mortgaged his house, bought knitting machines and installed them in the attic. With inspiration from Paris, material was knitted which Mrs. Ragnhild then sewed up. Soon, Gällstad's wool was a sought-after garment that was worn throughout Sweden. And the journey had only just begun.

New name, sport in focus and a driven brotherhood.
In the 70s, skiing is hotter than ever. Stenmark is a hero and all of Sweden wants to go downhill. At the same time, the small company in Gällstad takes the opportunity to change direction. Now it is sport that matters and the international market that attracts. The name is changed to Ivanhoe and the machines go into high gear. The knitted sweater is quickly becoming a must-have for all ski enthusiasts. In addition, there is a generational shift - sons Lars-Erik, Ulf and Göran take over from father Martin. And the brothers will drive the company forward for 40 years.

Wool, sustainability and another generation.
Under the siblings Anna, Anders and Karin, product development is refined to revolve around natural materials - and above all wool. The factory in Gällstad is still the starting point of the business and 90% of the garments are designed and knitted on site. When the company celebrates 75 years in 2021, it takes the opportunity to relaunch the classic ski sweater - a nod to the knitted woolen fashion of the 70s. The business constantly continues to develop in order to meet the conscious customers of tomorrow. And the innovative family spirit lives on in every decision.

We love tough sustainability rules!
Wool is a natural material – it is renewable, degradable and easy to keep clean. And as a small-scale producer with a factory in Sweden, we of course have full control over working conditions and traceability. But we want more. We want to challenge ourselves to constantly improve. That's why we like tough demands on sustainability. Feel free to follow our work for even better wool garments.
